Connecting your NZB indexers to PornDB: NZBPorn, NZBFinder, DrunkenSlug and more

How indexer connections work in PornDB: NZBPorn built in, personal API keys for other indexers, test mode, pausing, and what happens to your keys.

PornDB shows you releases from the NZB indexers you have access to. This guide explains how to connect them, what PornDB does with your API keys and how to fix the most common problems.

NZBPorn is already connected

NZBPorn is integrated into PornDB. As soon as your account is confirmed, you can browse its releases. There is nothing to connect and no personal key to enter. In fact, the app does not accept a personal NZBPorn key.

NZBPorn downloads are delivered through PornDB itself, within per-account fair-use limits:

WindowDownloads
1 minute10
1 hour50
24 hours200
30 days1,000

All four limits apply together, and your remaining allowance is shown under Settings → Downloads → NZBPorn allowance.

Personal indexers

For other indexers, you connect your own account at that indexer. Priority support goes to NZBFinder and DrunkenSlug; the list of connectable indexers in the app shows everything currently available.

Go to Settings → Downloads → Indexers, pick an indexer and choose one of two options.

With your API key

Copy the API key from your profile at the indexer and paste it in. The connection is active immediately. You see that indexer’s collected releases in Discover and Releases, and download buttons open a direct link at the indexer.

In test mode

Not sure whether an indexer is worth it? Connect it in test mode, without a key. You get the same browsing and search as with a key, so you can see what that indexer has. Download buttons stay disabled and tell you that a key is missing. Add the key later and the connection switches to normal mode.

What PornDB does with your key

Your key is stored encrypted and used for one thing only: it is placed into the download link that your own browser opens at the indexer when you click download. PornDB does not use your key to search, does not send it to its collection service and does not test it against the indexer.

Two consequences:

  • Releases are shared, access is personal. Indexer entries are collected once per indexer, not per user. Connecting an indexer gives you access to what has already been collected for it, and you only see indexers you have connected.
  • Problems with the key show up at the indexer. If a download link ends in an error page at the indexer, your key may be outdated or your plan there may not cover that release. Replace the key under Indexers.

Pause, replace, remove

Each connection can be changed at any time, and every change takes effect immediately:

  • Pause hides that indexer’s releases and disables its downloads until you resume.
  • Replace key swaps in a new key, for example after you regenerated it at the indexer.
  • Test mode deletes the saved key and keeps browsing.
  • Remove stops access and deletes the encrypted key.

Downloads need a prdb.net membership

Browsing and search are free with any confirmed account. Every download, from NZBPorn or from a personal indexer, additionally requires an active prdb.net membership. Connect your prdb.net key under Settings → prdb.net → Connection; the membership status is checked regularly and shown under Membership.

Moving keys from the old porndb.me

If you had indexer keys saved on the original porndb.me, you do not need to enter them again. After claiming your old account, review them under Settings → Data → Legacy import. The migration guide explains each step.
